COVID REOPENING

PROCEDURES

Please review with your dancers. Please remember the new guidelines are mandatory safety regulations and industry-specific guidelines put in place by the State and Local Board of Health, as well as the dance industry for the purpose of keeping our teachers and dancers safe during the pandemic.

All guidelines are fluid and subject to change at any time should there be any changes in the COVID Pandemic.

  1. The lobby is closed to large groups of people. We ask that dancers age 8 and over enter the building without a parent. Dancers under age 8 may have one parent with them. There are no siblings or extra people allowed in our lobby. Once the lobby reaches capacity, others will be required to stay in their car.

  2. Parents must conduct their own health assessment of their dancer at home. NO ONE MAY ENTER THE BUILDING IF THEY ARE EXHIBITING ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID-19.

    1. To participate or attend:  participants, volunteers, coaches and spectators must show no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days. Current list of symptoms is available here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptomstesting/symptoms.html  

    2.  If any individual develops symptoms of COVID-19 during the activity, they should promptly inform organizers and must be removed from the activity and instructed to return home. 

    3.  Participants, organizers, spectators, volunteers and facility employees in high risk categories should not participate or attend organized sport activities. List of high-risk categories available here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-at-higher-risk.html

  3. Dancers may not enter the building until 5 minutes before their scheduled class time. If you are too early, you will be asked to leave and wait in your car until the correct time.

  4. Our dressing rooms are CLOSED. All dancers need to arrive dressed to dance. Hair must be done at home as well. While we don’t advocate for wearing dance shoes outside, if your dancer only takes one style, it is recommended they wear their dance shoes into the building. Bathrooms are still not allowed to be used as changing rooms.

  5. Anyone entering the building must wear a mask. Staff members will be wearing masks at all times.

    1. Mask Guidelines for Dancers: Dancers age 5 and up must wear a mask while dancing. Please direct all questions to the director.

  6. Dancers are required to sanitize their hands upon entering the lobby. There are sanitizing stations set up for your use.

  7. Upon entering the lobby, dancers will be directed to a numbered, socially distanced chair and sit down. There will be no ability to hang a coat. All belongings must stay with you and put in your dance bag. Dancers must wait until they are called one by one to enter their respective classroom. They will be given a designated area to place their bag, dance shoes, mask and water bottle. PLEASE DO NOT BRING HUGE BAGS FILLED WITH THINGS YOU DO NOT NEED. A CLEAR XL ZIPLOC BAG OR A CINCH BAG IS FINE. If your dancer doesn’t have a change of dance shoes, then they should not bring anything with them into the lobby except a clearly labeled water bottle.

  8. Upon being called into the dance studio room, each dancer will be given a spot to place their personal items and will be assigned a taped box area on the floor to stand in. They must stay inside their taped  box outline to dance the entire time.

  9. Once class is over, dancers will be released one at a time to the lobby to either get ready for their next class or exit the building.

  10. Due to the sizes of our classrooms and per Board of Health guidelines, we are allowed only a total of 10 dancers in Studio B. The smaller studio (Studio A) can only hold 8 dancers at once.  There will be no contact between dancers at any time and they must maintain their social distancing while in the building. While we  would love to hug each and every one of you, we can’t. Please respect social-distancing guidelines and do not attempt to hug anyone that you don’t live with. ANY DANCER WHO CANNOT FOLLOW THE SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE BUILDING AND TO CONTINUE TAKING CLASS THROUGH ZOOM FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY.

  11. There will be no use of shared props at this time. Each young dancer will have a specially labeled Prop bag that will live at the studio and will only be used by them. We will not be using notebooks at this time. All dancers under age 8 will receive a coloring sheet and a sticker to take home.

  12. Combo classes will be changing their shoes IN THE CLASSROOMS.  This is a change from how we usually run the classes. However, we are trying to lessen the amount of people exiting the studios and running through the lobby during class times.

  13. There is no eating allowed at the studio at this time. Please do not bring snacks in with you. No juice boxes either, only water. Parents, this applies to you as well.

  14. While our bathrooms are open, we strongly encourage dancers who are there for only one class to use the facilities at home prior to arrival. Obviously, we will allow dancers to use the bathrooms If it is an emergency.

  15. We will be sanitizing the classrooms in between classes. We will have one staff member in the lobby to help with sanitizing high traffic areas while the studio is open for classes.

  16. The lost and found box has been removed. The shoe-sharing shelf has been removed. If you need a pair of shoes, please ask at the desk and we will let you know if we have any in your size. Any items left behind at the end of the night will be held for one week and then disposed of if not claimed.

  17. If you need to pay or sign anything, please call the studio first to verify there is someone available to help you. Please help us stay open by practicing social distancing!
